The roadmap at a glance

Behind every beautiful business is a stronger strategy.

The challenge, the insight, and the direction behind Sparrow’s next chapter.

01 / THE CHALLENGE

A stronger pipeline was the answer.

Samantha had already proven the caliber of her design work. The next chapter was about creating a firm with stronger relationships and a more intentional pipeline.

02 / THE INSIGHT

The founder was the engine.

Her design eye, reputation, and relationships created the value. Sustainable growth required a shift from direct involvement in everything to repeatable systems.

03 / THE DIRECTION

Build beyond the founder.

Refine the ideal client, strengthen referral relationships, elevate the offer, and create the foundation for a supported design firm.

TEN'S PERSPECTIVE

“The goal is better-fit work, with Samantha leading where her expertise matters most.”

Expansion chapter / Offer enhancement

Elevating the Signature Design Experience.

Growth begins by reimagining the value, structure, and delivery of the service people already want.

Existing approach to evaluateFounder-led interior design

Samantha's personal expertise, relationships, and design sensibility are central to the client experience.

  • Client experience depends heavily on Samantha's time.
  • Scope and project fit need clear qualification standards.
  • High-value work competes with operational responsibilities.
Proposed enhancementThe Sparrow Signature Experience

A more intentionally positioned premium engagement, with defined scope, a curated client journey, and the project support required to protect Samantha's creative leadership.

  • A clear definition of ideal projects and clients.
  • Service boundaries, deliverables, and investment criteria.
  • Delegable support touchpoints without losing the personal experience.
01Positioning

Define the buyer, project fit, and distinctive value.

02Packaging

Clarify scope, deliverables, and boundaries.

03Experience

Curate consultation, onboarding, and communication.

04Pricing

Business Revenue Roadmap · 90-Day Direction

Sparrow Studios Spaces

Build Sparrow from a Samantha-centered interior design practice into a scalable design firm — with stronger lead flow, higher-value projects, a managed referral network, and the revenue infrastructure needed to support a larger team.

Prepared for

Samantha

A focused roadmap for revenue, relationships, creative capacity, and the next 90 days.

Prepared by Ten Elyse Customer to Regular™ Version 6.5
The Decision

Two ways to grow. One of them costs you your Sundays.

Every design practice reaching this ceiling faces the same fork. Both paths increase revenue. Only one of them increases Samantha's capacity at the same time.

Path A · Set aside

Carry more, charge more.

Keep the same structure. Pursue higher-end clients. Samantha personally designs every project, generates every lead, and manages every process — at a larger scale.

  • Revenue rises, workload rises with it
  • Lead pressure lands entirely on Samantha
  • Every process stays locked in one head
  • The ceiling arrives again, higher up

Samantha's response: more overwhelm, more pressure, no more room.

Path B · Chosen

Build the firm around her.

Grow revenue and lead flow first, then add people. Samantha's role shifts from doing every project to generating the opportunity that supports a team.

  • Revenue and lead flow are built before payroll
  • Processes get documented, then handed off
  • First hire handles process and administration
  • Samantha moves toward lead generation, cherry-picked kitchen and bath projects, and art

Samantha's response: this is the one.

Path B is the whole roadmap.Everything that follows is the sequence that makes it safe.
The Economics

Fewer projects.Better projects.

Sparrow has already delivered at $125,000. The next market values precisely what Samantha does best: creativity, elevated materials, craftsmanship, and a designer confident enough to lead.

Proven today

$125,000

Delivered project range.

Next target market

$200K–$500K

Residential engagements with clients who can support the level of craftsmanship the work requires.

One $350,000 engagement does the work of nearly three at today's scale — on the same calendar, with the same team of one.

That single fact is the argument for depth over volume, and it is why every initiative here aims at the quality of the opportunity rather than the quantity of projects.

Category One · Lifestyle

Protect the asset the business runs on.

Samantha's creativity, warmth, design eye, and relationship instinct generate every dollar Sparrow earns. Depleted, they stop producing — and no pipeline compensates for a designer with nothing left to give a $400,000 home.

Two windows are now fixed in the week, held with the same seriousness as a client deadline. They exist because the overwhelm was the first problem on the table, and an overwhelmed founder cannot execute anything else in this document.

Every Sunday

11:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Reclaim me time

The dog. The lake. The camera. Nature, galleries, rest, daydreaming. Do something beautiful because you want to, with no obligation for it to become content or revenue.

Every Wednesday

Hard stop at 4:00 PM

Midweek reset

From 4–8 PM: Bible study, prayer, pottery, ceramics, painting, baking, journaling, walking, a long bath, or nothing at all. Around 8 PM, begin winding down and reclaim the evening.

Rest belongs inside the business strategy. It protects the creative capacity the revenue is built on.
Category Two · Management

Document it now.Hand it off later.

A firm can only delegate what has been written down. Every step Samantha currently performs from memory is a step no future hire can take from her — so the processes get captured while she is still the one doing them.

Now

Write the processes

Turn what Samantha already does — selections, drawings, site progress, installation, client communication — into repeatable, written steps.

First hire

Process & admin support

The first person is administrative, not a designer. They take the tracking, coordination, organization, and recurring operational load off Samantha entirely.

Year two

The first designer

With the pipeline proven and the processes documented, a designer joins and begins carrying standard project work.

The shift

Samantha moves to lead generation

Her primary responsibility becomes generating opportunity and key relationships. She cherry-picks the projects that need her expertise — kitchen and bath, where her technical training sits and the margin is highest.

The first hire is a process person, not a designer.Capacity has to exist before talent can be added to it.
Rule 01

Revenue before payroll

Payroll arrives every two weeks whether or not the pipeline does. Lead flow and revenue are built first, which is the entire reason the lead engine comes before the hiring plan.

Rule 02

Nothing stays in one head

Every process documented this year is a task Samantha can stop carrying next year. Undocumented work is work that can never be delegated.

Category Three · Lead Generation

Build the engine before the team.

A designer can only be hired once there is enough consistent opportunity to keep them busy. This is the repeatable monthly cycle that produces it.

Step 01

Enter the right rooms

Two high-end networking events every month. Wealth management, investment advisory, luxury real estate, high-end builders. Presence, not prospecting.

Step 02

Capture the relationship

Every meaningful connection enters Sparrow's own list through the branded Capture card — out of Samantha's memory and into a system.

Step 03

Build referral partners

Financial advisors, attorneys, builders, architects, luxury agents. Become the designer they keep in their back pocket for the moment a client mentions a renovation.

Step 04

Convert to a meeting

Warm relationships become coffee dates, consultations, and qualified project conversations. Samantha in a room is where Sparrow converts.

Step 05

Deliver the project

The work itself — documented in stages for proof, stories, and nurture material.

Step 06

Nurture what Sparrow has

After every large order delivers: an exceptionally wrapped thank-you. Flowers, handwritten correspondence, a small signed photograph, exquisite presentation.

Step 07

The relationship returns

Another room, a second property, an introduction, a referral, an art purchase. The warmest lead in the business is a client Sparrow already delighted.

↻  Every delivered project feeds the top of the engine again
The monthly rhythm

What this looks like on a calendar

  • Two selected high-end events
  • Every new connection captured the same week
  • One referral partner relationship deepened
  • Every delivered project closed with a gift
The 90-day target

One serious $100K+ opportunity

Surfaced from relationships already in hand — past clients, referral partners, and newly captured connections — rather than from cold prospecting.

Category Four · Brand Proof

The work was always this good. The presentation was the only thing lagging.

Samantha makes the first impression in person. The website decides whether it survives. An affluent homeowner, a wealth advisor, or a referral partner looks Sparrow up within hours of hearing the name — usually before any conversation happens.

AfterThe new direction

What the previous site told a $300,000 client

  • The portfolio was coursework. Projects labeled Interior Design IV · JCCC · 2024, with "practicing portfolio coming soon" where the proof belonged.
  • The project tiles were empty. No finished photography of a single delivered home.
  • The bio led with credentials and a Van Gogh quote. All true, all about Samantha, none about the client.
  • The headshot was cold. Black leather on grey — competent, and nothing of the warmth that closes every project in the room.
  • Default buttons, a bright green link, and a typo in the booking header. Small things that quietly set the price ceiling.

What the new presentation does

Leads with the caliber of the work

Strong interiors, before-and-after proof, process, design thinking, and the feel of a high-end client experience.

Puts Samantha inside the decision

The designer, the photographer, the artist, the person. High-value clients are choosing who they want inside their home for a year, and now they can see her first.

Gives interest somewhere to go

A branded Capture card and a clear path into Sparrow's owned list, so an interested person stops depending on Samantha's memory.

Makes referring Sparrow easy

The digital experience confirms what the referral partner promised — and makes recommending Samantha a safe thing to do.

The relationship starts with Samantha. The website confirms the promise.

Recommended order: elevate the Sparrow interior-design website first. Next, give Samantha's photography and art a separate home where that work can breathe and build its own collector audience. A personal brand for Samantha remains a future expansion; the next two projects take priority.

Secondary Growth Path · The Emerging Collector Base

Finish the home.Begin the collection.

Every completed project turns a design client into a first-time owner of Samantha's photography.

Samantha's design clients are already the exact audience for her art: people with wall space, taste, and the means to buy original work. The completion gift introduces a piece inside a relationship that already carries affection and trust — the warmest possible context a first artwork will ever have.

The goal of the gift is ownership. Once a signed photograph hangs in a home Sparrow designed, the next conversation about art has already begun.

The Three-Year Shape

Revenue first.Team second.

Year One

Build the revenue engine

Target: increase annual revenue by approximately 50% while improving project quality and client fit.

  • Move toward higher-value residential projects
  • Reactivate affluent former clients
  • Build the strategic referral network
  • Two high-end events per month
  • Elevate the website and brand proof
  • Begin documenting every process
Year Two

Build the operating infrastructure

Goal: prepare Sparrow to operate beyond Samantha before adding design payroll.

  • Hire the process and administrative person
  • SOPs and repeatable workflows in place
  • Design-specific project management and CRM
  • Organize records, vendors, purchasing, templates, handoffs
  • Test an intern or part-time junior designer
  • Define the first designer role from real needs
Year Three

Build the firm

Goal: add design capacity while Samantha's personal workload holds steady.

  • First designer into a larger or full-time role
  • Second designer as demand justifies it
  • The team carries standard project work
  • Operations support stays in place
  • Samantha shifts to lead generation, key relationships, high-profile kitchen and bath work, and art
The end goal is a larger company with greater capacity, stronger revenue, and more freedom for Samantha.
The Function Grey Swan Manages

Samantha stays in her genius.Grey Swan runs the follow-through.

Carrying every lead, every follow-up, and every "I'd love to work with you someday" while also running design projects is a second full-time job hiding inside the first one.

Grey Swan takes that function off Samantha's plate and operates it as a standing function of the business. Customer to Regular™ is the method: capture the interest, build the relationship, tell the Sparrow story, and keep the connection moving until the person is ready for a real conversation.
